Middle Earth Skirmish Rules

Middle Earth are a set of free wargames rules for skirmishes in JRR Tolkien’s fantasy worlds. The set includes specific rules for battles in the three “Ages.”

Tigers At Minsk

Tigers at Minsk is a set of WWII rules designed for 10mmm figures on 4 inch hexes. The author writes:

These rules are specifically designed for WWII tactical games to be played in a small area (3′ x 2′ or slightly larger) using 4″ hexes. Units represent individual infantry sections, support weapons and vehicles. Most of the scenarios presented here use a gaming space that is 8 hexes wide by 6 hexes deep if using a 4″ hex with the hex grain running sideways (see scenario maps). The equipment lists and scenarios relate to the east front circa 1943 / 44 and have been developed using Kallistra hex terrain and Pendraken’s 10mm figures.

Captains Bold Frigate Rules

Captains Bold is a free print-and-play game for the age of sail. It focuses on duels between frigates.

Shield Breaker Fantasy Rules

Shield Breaker is a set of free wargames rules for fantasy skirmish. The authors write:

Shield Breaker is a game about warbands battling it out in a world of legends. It is intended for use with about 6–20 miniatures in the most common 28mm scale. Buy, borrow or steal any fantasy miniatures, compose a warband and you are ready to play.

Warband Science Fantasy Role Playing

Warband is a free RPG with a science fantasy, science fiction flavor. In truth, it could very well be the Warhammer 40K RPG. The author writes:

This game is my homage to the ‘grim, dark future’. A game of spikey power armor wearing, bolt-gun shooting, chain-sword waving chaos worshippers. Characters struggle to survive in the warp of space, as low-level members of a Chaos Lord’s warband, they strive to make a name for themselves and eventually captain a ship of their own.
