Battlemap: Shrine of the Bronze Dagger is a free fantasy battle map usable with both RPGs and tabletop miniatures. The map shows a shrine, and the living quarters of a dark cult. It occured to me that it would also be great for a Cthulhu mythos adventure using the Pulp Alley games, so I’m going to download it.
For those who like to get in on the ground floor, Wildfire Games has an open Beta Test of its new CthulhuTech RPG Core Book.
Postcard Cthulhu is a print-and-play cooperative worker placement game set in HP Lovecraft’s Cthulhu universe. The game quite cleverly is designed (as its name suggests) to fit on both sides of a postcard. In deference to my older eyes, however, I printed it on a full sheet of paper. The postcard version, however, would travel well.
Set in the pulp 1920s, Strange Aeons is a skirmish game that sets bands of adventurers against Lovecraftian horrors. The game is commercial, but they have a free test version.
The Cthulhu Skirmish game from Warpspawn is designed to be played on a chessboard with miniatures. Each figure represents one man or monster. I also think that it would be easily adaptable to playing as a more traditional miniatures game.
