One If By Land AWI rules

Bob Bergman has written “One If By Land”, a set of free wargames rules for the American War of Independence on a 1:10 scale. The rules use a card activation system, movement is randomized with a die to reflect the uneven nature of terrain, and fire and melee combat are resolved by rolling a d10 and consulting a table. A nice touch is that the figures are based according to the popular “Age of Reason” rules set. I have a large collection of 15mm American Revolution figures and I’m going to give these a try.

TIERRA Y LIBERTAD rules

Arofan Gregory has posted TIERRA Y LIBERTAD, a set of free fast play wargames rules for the 1910 – 1920 Mexican Revolution.

Two Page Skirmish

There is no shortage of free wargames rules for the Colonial period. A good one is the Two Page Skirmish rules from Steve Winter.

De Bellis Velitum

De Bellis Velitum is a set of free wargames rules from the legendary Phil Barker that features:

two small forces, each consisting of 1 to 4 sub-units, each in turn of 4 to 12 singly based 25mm figures, totalling up to 24 army points (AP) and controlled by a single player. Figures vary in cost between 6 AP and 2 AP. One figure of the most expensive mounted type or most expensive foot type present is nominated as the force’s commander and one figure of each group is nominated as its leader.
