The Tabletop Terrain site has a little, but useful article on making movement trays for your figures. This is particularly useful for games like Warhammer Ancients and the new Lord of the Rings big battle game, where large numbers of individual figures are maneuvered about.

Border Town Burning is a free, unofficial supplement to the excellent, but abandoned, Mordheim, from Games Workshop. It’s got new rules, a new setting and lots of scenarios in a very professionally done format.

African Exploration Online Game
The History Channel has an online, flash game about African Exploration. You roll dice (virtually), and try to accumulate miles and supplies, and avoid hazards. Its fun, and I can see a way to turn this into a neat miniatures game … I’m sure my friend Bob from Ann Arbor could pull it off.

The prolific Jim Wallman offers a set of free wargames rules for Napoleonic Warfare called Shot and Sail. In addition to the pdf fo the rules, you’ll need the zipped graphics of ship cards.
