Column, Line and Square Napoleonics Rules

Column, Line and Square was the first set of Napoleonics rules that I ever played — and I suspect, the first set that many people played. We called it Column, Line and Slaughter, though, becuase slaughter was the usual result.

Still, it was fun to play –especially with 25mm figures.

Sadly, the set is apparently no longer in print. But you can get the rules here, free for the downloading.

Using Children’s Board Books For Bases

Here’s an interesting idea about using an old children’s board book as a base for making terrain. I think there’s lots of other uses for this readily available source of thick cardboard.

Making A Long Marshes Game / Display Board

This is a nice video showing the construction of a beautiful marshes board. The board was designed for display, but the techniques could be used to make terrific battle boards.
