Back in the day, I owned a couple of Heritage’s Dwarfstar Games. They were a lot of fun. Now, several of them are available for a free download at this website.
Rorke’s Drift has captured the imagination as one of the greatest stands in history. Thousands of brave Zulu warriors versus a handful of stalwart British soldiers. What’s not to like? The battle is a staple for colonial wargamers. Steve Winter has these free wargames rules for Rorke’s Drift.
I’ve been keeping this link about West End games in my Favorites folder. I’ve posted it here in response to a request on The Miniatures Page.
Bob Bergman has written a set of free wargames rules for the American Civil War called Seeing The Elephant. Designed for two different regimental and a brigade scale, the rules use a card activation mechanism, combined with a Morale Check. Firing is done by adding Fire Factors and rolling a die; Melee by figuring odds and rolling a die. In all, a comprehensive, well-thought out set of rules.
Rules Crusade is a complete rewrite of the Warhammer 40K, Mordheim and Necromunda wargames rules to use the old Milton Bradley Space Crusade system. Its well done, but I’m not sure why Sean Patten went to all the effort. I’m also not sure why GW’s hordes of lawyers haven’t descended upon him and turned him over to the Inquisitors.
