Empires At Sea Ancient Naval Rules

Empires At Sea is a hex-based naval war game for ancients. The author writes:

This set of naval warfare rules is designed for ancient sea battles from the 5th to 2nd Century BCE.

The goal was to keep play fast, simple and with no more than one page of charts. Play-testing has given us a good deal of fun and enjoyment. I hope that each of you will will enjoy it much as we did. Feedback is always welcome, and we know as with all games, it is not perfect but it should suit most peoples needs.

Brytenwalda Age of Arthur – Saxon Invasion Rules

Brytenwalda is a new set of very professsionally done free wargames rules for battles in the Dark Ages – Age of Arthur – Saxon Invasion period. It’s a neat set, but what I really like is the attitude of the authors:

Brytenwalda is an open set for mature gamers.

It is open because, as Creative Commons licensed project, you’ll be free to adapt the game in any way you feel more confortable with. There is no written in stone rules, you can change whatever you want. You can even set this rules into another time: in Brytenwalda you’ll find the rules to create your own warriors or whole warbands so, why not playing in the times of Rome, the Crusades or in a fantasy world?

It is for mature gamers because it is not focused in competitive manners nor thought as game for tournaments. This is just for fun… and fun is what a game should be.

Action Figure Combat Rules

Action Figure Combat is a set of free wargames rules for games with 1/8 inch action figures. From the author’s introduction:

Action Figure Combat is a ‘Beer and Pretzels’ style game that is fast and easy to learn. It is a set of game rules for use with 1/18 scale (3.75”) action figures. Now you can play a game with your military action figures and emulate your favorite cartoon and comic book battles. The focus is on small unit tactics involving a dozen or so action figures on the table with the option of one or two vehicles.
