Gangs of Rome Rules
Gangs of Rome is a new miniatures game of street fighting in Ancient Rome (yes, it was a thing). It’s actually a game I have thought about for years, going back to several books I read describing Roman politics as a blood sport. The rules are free for now, and there are dedicated miniatures and other things you can buy. Check out their Facebook page.
Historic Software Collection
The Internet Archive has an interesting collection of historic software games that you can actually run on your modern computers. Of particular interst to me was Karateka, which I played the heck out of back in the day.
Teddy’s Wild Ride Fast play Rules For San Juan Hill
The Junior General offers Teddy’s Wild Ride, a set of fast play rules for the Battle of San Juan Hill in the Spanish American War. It’s the battle that — rightly or wrongly — made TR a legend.
The Fantastic In Art and Fiction
Cornell University has an online exhibit with some fantastic images of devils, demons, witches and the like. I really enjoyed browsing the collection and couldn’t help but think how neat it would be see a line of miniatures using these as inspiration.
