Dungeoneering dot Net has a nice selection of printable terrain tiles ostensibly for use with the Dungeons and Dragons miniatures game, but which would also work with any number of dungeon crawl games — of which there are many free ones available on this site.
Cheapass Games offers Renfield, a card game about parts, tools, gravestones and “yummy delicious bugs.”
In the world of Glider Pit Gladiators,
Two to six players control primitive gliders descending into a deep, sheer-walled pit. Within this natural arena the glider pilots engage in ritualistic, nonlethal gladiatorial combat. A combination of martial and flying skills is required for success in the glider-pit. Every decision a player makes, from the selection of weapons to the anticipation of fickle air currents, can be the first step down a road to glory… or disaster.
I think that this would make a really good and visually striking miniatures game.
Years ago, GDW used to hand out copies of a simple Frank Chadwick game called Battle for Moscow. I’ve got a copy, and have used it to introduce players to board style hex wargaming. If you dont’ have a copy of this classic, you can download it here.
Dwarfstar’s classic Barbarian Prince board game is now available for a free download.
From the original cover:
BARBARIAN PRINCE is a solitaire game of heroic adventure in a forgotten age of barbarism and sorcery. No opponent is necessary as the Event Booklet takes you through a pre-programmed sequence of encounters which is different each time you play the game. For each event, you, as the Barbarian Prince Cal Arath, must make the decisions which will make your quest successful — or may cost you your life.
BARBARIAN PRINCE is a new concept in Adventure Gaming. No rules reading is required; the programmed event sequence lets you begin play as soon as you open the box.
BARBARIAN PRINCE contains — A full-color 12″x 14″ mapboard, a die, rules folder, Event Booklet, and summary sheet
