Postcard Empire is a free print-and-play boardgame for 2 – 4 players. As the name suggests, the game board fits on a postcard, while the rules fit on the back. The black-and-white pdf is free. The site also sells a very inexpensive color postcard.
Postcard Cthulhu Print-And-Play
Postcard Cthulhu is a print-and-play cooperative worker placement game set in HP Lovecraft’s Cthulhu universe. The game quite cleverly is designed (as its name suggests) to fit on both sides of a postcard. In deference to my older eyes, however, I printed it on a full sheet of paper. The postcard version, however, would travel well.
Ares Magazine #1 – WorldKiller The Game of Planetary Assault
The first issue of Ares Magazine featured a game called “WorldKiller, The Game of Planetary Assault.” There’s also an interesting article on the “most significant science fiction and fantasy games” by (among others) Greg Costikyan. It’s a nice little piece of history and a glimpse to what was state of the art nearly forty years ago.
