Blaster Simple Science Fiction RPG

From the author:

Blaster is a generic SciFi RPG in the 26th century where mankind’s unity has been sundered by war and where a few good men can still make a difference.

More like Firefly and Buck Rogers (the 1930′s version) than Star Trek you will form a team of adventurers who have a small starship which they can use to explore, travel, trade and fight against the dying of the light.

As usual both the core rules and the setting are single page affairs and are completely compatible with other titles in the Dead Simple RPG series.

Paper Science Fiction Ornithopter Model

Toposolitario has a new paper model for you to enjoy: a science fiction ornithopter. The artist points out that a 50% printing, it would work for the now very popular 15mm science fiction figures.

Starcrashers Board Game

Starcrashers is a simple tabletop game of space exploration and combat. The author writes:

Star Crashers is a friendly game for 2-4 players, ages 8 and up. Each turn, players move their spacecraft around the table, exploring by flipping over Blip Counters that could be Space Pirates, Gravity Mines, Derelict Ships, and stranger things! When a player successfully deals with an encounter, they collect Credits as specified in the encounter. Once all the Blip Counters have been revealed and dealt with, the game is over- the player with the most credits wins. You can also try playing teams, pairing up with another player and combining your credits to see which team can earn the most!

Firefly For Savage Worlds

Here’s an excellent adaptation of Savage Worlds to the FireFly universe. I’m a fan of the all-too-short-lived Josh Whedon science fiction series.

Edgar Rice Burroughs ‘Zine

EGBZine is an online archive of more than 10,000 pages of Edgar Rice Burroughs goodness — stories, articles, art and more. If you’re contemplating (as I am) a John Carter of Mars game, this is a good place to start.
