Glider Pit Gladiators Board Game

In the world of Glider Pit Gladiators,

Two to six players control primitive gliders descending into a deep, sheer-walled pit. Within this natural arena the glider pilots engage in ritualistic, nonlethal gladiatorial combat. A combination of martial and flying skills is required for success in the glider-pit. Every decision a player makes, from the selection of weapons to the anticipation of fickle air currents, can be the first step down a road to glory… or disaster.

I think that this would make a really good and visually striking miniatures game.

Barbarian Prince Board Game

Dwarfstar’s classic Barbarian Prince board game is now available for a free download.

From the original cover:

BARBARIAN PRINCE is a solitaire game of heroic adventure in a forgotten age of barbarism and sorcery. No opponent is necessary as the Event Booklet takes you through a pre-programmed sequence of encounters which is different each time you play the game. For each event, you, as the Barbarian Prince Cal Arath, must make the decisions which will make your quest successful — or may cost you your life.

BARBARIAN PRINCE is a new concept in Adventure Gaming. No rules reading is required; the programmed event sequence lets you begin play as soon as you open the box.

BARBARIAN PRINCE contains — A full-color 12″x 14″ mapboard, a die, rules folder, Event Booklet, and summary sheet

Goblin – A Dwarf Star Board Game

Are you old enough to remember the DwarfStar board games? If so, then you probably have the same fond memories as I do. One of my favorites was Goblin. In it, players take turns pillaging and plundering a hapless valley.

Brutal Hack and Slash Role Playing Game

Brutal is a basic hack and slash RPG that uses a dice pool system with opposed rolls to resolve an action. The game is designed to handle massive battles quickly. Author David Stanley writes:

This game is for serious players only! Hordes of Heart-stopping-pounding, Heavy-hitting, Hack-and-Slash action adventure await! This game is not for sissy players who don’t want their characters to die. In a BRUTAL game, your characters get killed all the time. How long can your characters stay alive?

Ars Magica Role Playing Game

Ars Magica is a role playing game set in Mythic Europe — nominally 1220 AD, but a land inhabited by faeries, daemon and other magical creatures. Its a great game that I’ve enjoyed playing over the years.

Ars Magica set the benchmark for magic in fantasy roleplaying. It pioneered the storytelling style of roleplaying that has become so popular today. Its setting, Mythic Europe, sparked the imaginations of fantasy fans and history enthusiasts alike. The 272-page fourth edition introduced improved systems in several key areas such as combat, character advancement, and covenant generation. This version of the game retained and improved upon Ars Magica’s powerful and flexible magic system – widely regarded as the best rules for magic in all of gaming.

Atlas Games has all sorts for free downloads for the 4th Edition of this marvelous game.
