Imperium Battles Science Fiction Rules

Imperium Battles is a “replacement” set of rules for Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40k, based on the GW-Milton Bradley collaboration Space Crusade. The authors write:

“Imperium Battles” is a tabletop game for 25mm sci-fi miniatures from the Warhammer 40,000/Mutant Chronicles and similar universes that we have developed, based on the Space Crusade rules, but expanding them to cover whole-table scenarios, outdoor terrain, vehicles, buildings, and many more types of figures and weapons. The simplicity of the Space Crusade rules is zealously protected – “no tapemeasures or results tables” is the motto, and fun and relaxing games are the order of the day. Consequently, hexes are used for location and movement (although sometimes squares are still used on particular board sections or terrain pieces), with these hexes largely being supplied by the excellent ‘Battlescape’ range of terrain accessories from Geo-Hex.

Laser Grenadiers Science Fiction Rules

Laser Grenadiers is a set of free wargames rules for science fiction games. The author writes

LaserGrenadiers extends modern combined arms combat into the future, allowing players to field powered armor infantry, tanks, crewed weapons, tanks, wardrones, helicopters, battledrones or “mechs,” artillery and ground attack aircraft. Vehicle propulsion systems may be wheeled, tracked, grav, hover, rocket or walker. The rules include all types of science fiction weaponry (lasers, cone rifles, phasers, ion cannon, etc.), but do not include psionic warfare. Fire combat dominates the game, with melee combat occurring infrequently. The rules were intended for use with any science fiction figures the players may have, and have been used for battles ranging from a few figures on each side up to the final battles of major campaigns with up to a hundred figures and twenty armored vehicles per side.

Carnage: Drive To Survive Rules

Carnage are a set of free wargames rules for auto combat in a slightly different world. The author explains:

Carnage is a racing battle game set in Britain in 2003 or so. Players take control of vehicles from humble Reliant Regals to top-spec Lamborghinis, and then kit them out with improbable Equipment and weaponry, with a view to slaughtering similar minded opponents. They take part in “duels”, (races against each other for honour, pride or cash….but mostly cash), in order to better their machines and skills for the next race. What the end goal is of all this, probably no-one knows, and the Police seem strangely absent from all this. Ah well, who said reality was fun?
