Extra Terrae Crepusculum Fantasy Skirmish Game

Crunch Waffle Games offers Extra Terrae Crepusculum, a free fantasy skirmish wargame designed to allow you to use miniatures from any other game system or line. Crunch Waffle is of course, a miniatures company and surely hopes that this will spur sales. It’s a great idea. I’ve long thought that miniatures companies should give away their rules to sell the miniatures — sort of the Gillette theory of game sales: give away the handle and charge them for the blades.

Castles and Crusades Netbook of Classes

Castles And Crusades is old school Dungeons and Dragons, with some clever systems that both simplify things and make the game compatible with all of yoru old (monster manuals and such. I don’t normally link to commercial products here, but I’m particularly taken with this one.

There’s also a growing community offering free supplementary materials, like the Netbook of Classes. The Netbook offers fifteen new classes, including executioner, harlequin and lore warden.
